Synopsis

Throughout the documentary series, the artist will narrate his passionate life for the first time in the first person. Miguel has been one of the most loved, desired, criticized and persecuted characters by the press and the public. Surrounded by a halo of mystery, he has always been very jealous of his privacy, but now, and exclusively, he opens the door to his most personal memories to revisit his exciting life, from his adolescence to fulfilling his great dream: to be a father. Miguel will take stock of the moments that have marked him the most and have been decisive in his personal development. We will celebrate their successes, but we will also talk about the most distressing moments, the wounds healed and those that are still open. In addition, thanks to the testimony of his friends, family and colleagues, we will meet a close and intimate Miguel, as we have never seen him before.

Their work is full of emotion, humor, color, music, diversity and LGTBIQ+ awareness. It is part of the 2020’s Best TV Series of the Year of The New Yorker and Variety, and has received the endorsement of Madonna and Ellen DeGeneres, among other global trendsetters. The press and the awards have also prized their work. Besides Veneno, they created the theatrical musical Holy Camp!, and the Netflix Original Paquita Salas for three seasons. During those years, he shot three short films, studied at several film academies and finished his degree. Afterwards, he entered the School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid, specializing in Screenplay, in 2004. Meanwhile, he got his first work as a scriptwriter in TV fiction. During the last academic year, when he was 25 years old, he got the opportunity to direct his first movie. Later on, he started working as a scriptwriter and director for Isla Producciones in TV series, such as Impares, Pecera de Eva or Frágiles, which were all positively praised by TV critics. Stockholm was awarded with three Biznaga de Plata prizes, a special mention, the Signis prize for the best film and the Youth Jury prize for the best film. It was the most awarded movie at the festival, which included other films by highly praised directors and (almost all) produced with a far higher budget. Rodrigo Sorogoyen was awarded with the prize for the best director and the prize for the best new script, together with co-writer Isabel Peña. In 2015, he starts shooting his third project for the big screen, Que Dios nos perdone, with Antonio de la Torre and Roberto Álamo as part of the main cast. In 2017, he shoots Madre and participates at the Oscars for Best Short Fiction Film. During that same year, he shoots the movie El reino, awarded with Goya prizes for the best director and best original script. In 2020, he shoots Antidisturbios for Movistar+, co-written by Rodrigo and Isabel Peña. The series tells the story of six agents from the riot police that are facing charges of involuntary manslaughter. The series was awarded several prizes: Feroz, Forqué, Iris and MiM Series. One year later, he shoots the film As Bestas, starring Marina Foïs, Denis Ménochet, Luis Zahera and Diego Anido. It is a thriller set in natural landscapes of El Bierzo and rural inner regions of Galicia.
